THE WHITE CITY
In November 2019, the city of Le Teil was struck by an earthquake, the strongest in France in 50 years. My continued work on the “Château Verchaus” project led me from etching on paper to embedding the print in cement. And to recall this earthquake, cracks, breaks, black smoke and writings or human traces appeared. It is no longer only a photograph but the expression of chaos, through the assembly of pieces of cement and fragments of metal, that I bring to light in my work on the image between the medium and the content.
